Yogyakarta Tour Packages

Yogyakarta tour packages, arranged by how many days you have. Every package below is a private tour with a driver and a local guide, starting and ending at your hotel in Yogyakarta. Prices are per person, based on two people sharing; multi-day packages depend on the hotel class you choose, so those are quoted on request.

One-day tours

If you only have one full day, the classic pairing is Borobudur in the morning and Prambanan in the afternoon. Photographers and families often prefer the Prambanan sunset package with the Ramayana Ballet, which ends with dinner at Rama Shinta. For something away from the temples, the Jomblang Cave tour goes underground in Gunungkidul and is best booked ahead because the cave runs on fixed slots.

Two to four days

Two and three day packages are the most common choice: they cover Borobudur, Prambanan and the Merapi slopes without turning the trip into a race. A two-day tour fits the two main temples and one volcano; a three-day tour adds the sultan palace, Tamansari and a slower morning in the city. If you want to keep moving east, the four-day Java overland route continues toward Bromo.

Java island: five days and more

Longer packages connect Yogyakarta with the volcanoes of East Java. The Bromo and Ijen tour ends near the Bali ferry, the one-week Java tour adds the Dieng plateau, and the ten-day route covers the island end to end. Driving days on these routes are long, so the order of stops matters more than the number of them.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Yogyakarta tour package cost?

Day tours start at USD 90 per person for the Jomblang Cave and USD 120 for Borobudur and Prambanan. Multi-day packages are quoted on request because the total depends on hotel class, number of travellers and season.

How many days do I need in Yogyakarta?

Two days cover Borobudur and Prambanan at a comfortable pace. Three days add the sultan palace and Tamansari. Four days or more are needed if you want to continue to Bromo and Ijen.

Is hotel pickup included?

Pickup in Yogyakarta city is included on the packages that state it on their page. Confirm the pickup area when you book, especially for hotels outside the city or arrivals at Yogyakarta International Airport.

Can I combine Borobudur sunrise and Prambanan in one day?

Yes. Sunrise tours leave around 3–4 AM, return to the city for breakfast, and continue to Prambanan in the afternoon. It makes a long day, but it is the most efficient way to see both temples.

When is the best time to book?

May to October is the dry season with clearer sunrises. July, August and December are the busiest months, so book the package and the hotel early. The rainy season is quieter and greener, with a higher chance of afternoon rain.

Are the tours private?

Yes. The packages are private tours with a driver and a local guide, not shared coaches. Group size is whoever is in your booking.
