Jomblang Cave Tour

Jomblang Cave trips descend about 60 metres by rope into a collapsed cave in Gunungkidul, where a shaft of light reaches the floor between 10 AM and noon on clear days.
The trip is run in fixed slots with a limited number of visitors per day, so booking ahead matters, especially at weekends and in the July to August peak. You are lowered in a harness by the local team, walk through mud and water to the light chamber, and climb back out the same way. Bring shoes you do not mind losing and clothes that can get dirty.
Most packages combine the cave with Timang Beach, Pindul Cave or the Oyo River, which makes a long but full day. Check the pickup time, because the light is best in a narrow window, and confirm whether the cave fee, gear and local guide are included in the price.
